It’s not yet summer but I’m planning out my reading agenda now which will hopefully force me to take some time out for leisurely summer reading in the warm weather. After this extended winter, I am in need of vacation-like page turning, electronic or otherwise.
Here are the books I’ve got planned, though some will be old news to you guys since I let myself get way behind.
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
I’m totally on the tail end of this bandwagon, but I’ve heard great things about it and have already seen some solid 4-5 stars from like-minded friends on Goodreads.
Elfquest: The Final Quest Vol. 1 By Wendy and Richard Pini
This one just got released in its first volume, and I’ve resisted reading them until they were bundled into a collection. As a long-time Elfquest fan (we’re talking 30 years), I’ve been waiting until I can really give this my undivided attention before I dive in.
A Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire #1) by George R.R. Martin
That’s right, I still haven’t read these! But at the urging of others, it’s time. Get in mah belleh, Game of Thrones.
The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro
I’ve been seeing this one getting recommended everywhere. Time to see what the fuss is about.
You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost): A Memoir by Felicia Day
Homegirl’s memoir will be released in August and I’m ready to devour it. I love this bootstrap maven.
Alex + Ada Volume 1 by Jonathan Luna and Sarah Vaughn

Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy
My goal was to finish this one before seeing the movie that came out recently, but I failed in that mission. Thankfully the movie was amazing and inspired me to go back and finish this one out.
