I’m a pickle fiend. The only thing limiting me in the volume I want to consume is the sodium, otherwise I’d be jamming them in my gob 24/7. You’ll be unsurprised to learn that I amass quite a few pickle jars around the house with which I’m loathe to part. Many become drinking glasses and I have some future terrarium plans, but for now, I’ve decided on a particular upcycling for this batch o’ pickle jars. I’ve given them new life as dry goods containers with dinosaur handles.
This is such an easy project that the hardest part was taking off the labels, which I did with a little Goo Gone, though olive oil or nail polish remover does the job, too.
After the labels were off, I found a few cheapo plastic dinosaur toys at a craft store and had some gold metallic spray paint on hand. I used Gorilla Glue to attach the toys to the center of each lid, though super glue would definitely be the faster choice.
After the glue had cured, I just spray painted the lids and dinos together, waited for them to dry, and twisted them back on to their new storage homes. You could store craft supplies, cotton balls, anything you like in these. Hell, turn them into wedding centerpieces! The array of plastic toys available was pretty good, too. The Jurassic world is your oyster. Speaking of, SO EXCITED!
